Since 2021, an innovative and promising partnership was initiated with the National Alliance for Hispanic Health's Nuestras Voces (Our Voices) Network Program, an initiative of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The major aim of this project is to serve as a Regional Lead Agency (RLA) to address the threats of commercial tobacco use and reduce the impact of tobacco related cancers on the community's health and wellbeing, with a particular focus on reducing disparities in our community. Program strategies and activities focus on facilitating training and technical assistance through custom culturally proficient tobacco and control-related tailed education interventions and implementation of bilingual and culturally proficient media activities. CCDC also provides health care systems strategies and community-clinical linkages.
