For over 26 years the Rio Grande Cancer Foundation provided funding to support this initiative aimed to serve the community at large trough outreach education via Promotoras, mass media communication and case management services for cancer patients and their families during the treatment phase. The goal of this initiative was to strengthen our cancer information network of resources to improve patient access to health-care in El Paso area.
Outcome: From January 1, 1996 to December 30, 2019 program staff effectively provided outreach education to 34,242 persons, distributed 51,376 educational materials, navigated 13,702 people in need of cancer resources and case-managed 7,618 persons to cancer care.
